A private blend by Shinji Fukuyo, built around old Yamazaki mizunara casks

Wakyo — “harmony and fragrance” — was blended in 2015 by chief blender Shinji Fukuyo, the hand behind Hibiki 40, for a private release of only 539 bottles. At its heart are aged Yamazaki mizunara casks, including a 1984 vintage: soft and sweet, then intensely spicy, with incense and cinnamon.
